Citizens Behavioral Health provides structured, community-based behavioral health services through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP). We are seeking an experienced and licensed IOP/SAIOP Supervisor to provide clinical leadership, oversee treatment services, support staff development, and ensure exceptional client outcomes within our outpatient programs.
Position Summary
The IOP/SAIOP Supervisor serves as the clinical leader for our Intensive Outpatient Programs, overseeing treatment delivery, staff supervision, client progress, and program quality. This role combines clinical leadership with direct client care and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals navigating mental health and substance use recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Treatment Services
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to behavioral health staff.
- Review treatment plans, assessments, progress reviews, and discharge documentation.
- Support individualized treatment planning and client engagement.
- Promote best practices in behavioral health and substance use treatment.
Program Operations
- Oversee daily IOP and SAIOP program operations and treatment schedules.
- Monitor client participation, treatment progress, and program effectiveness.
- Coordinate care with case managers, clinical staff, and community partners.
- Support admissions, transitions, and discharge planning processes.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and therapeutic treatment environment.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure clinical documentation meets organizational and professional standards.
- Monitor service quality and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with chart reviews, audits, and compliance activities.
- Support accurate and timely record completion.
- Promote confidentiality and ethical treatment practices.
Team Development & Supervision
- Train, mentor, and support clinical team members.
- Provide regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
- Support onboarding and training of new staff.
- Encourage a collaborative, client-centered treatment culture.
Crisis Intervention & Client Support
- Provide guidance during clinical crises and challenging situations.
- Support risk assessment, safety planning, and client stabilization efforts.
- Promote positive treatment engagement and recovery-focused care.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Active and unrestricted professional licensure in North Carolina.
- Minimum 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- Experience providing supervision or leadership within behavioral health settings.
- Experience working in Intensive Outpatient, Substance Use, or similar treatment programs.
- Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Advanced training or credentials related to substance use treatment.
- Experience with medication-assisted treatment coordination.
- Experience supporting quality improvement and compliance initiatives.
